Job Description:
Job Summary
The Engineering Supervisor partners closely with Operations and Engineering teams to design, implement, and sustain standardized operational processes and best practices across the network. This role ensures accurate work measurement, effective operating plans, and disciplined execution to support service excellence, productivity improvement, and cost optimization.
The Engineering Supervisor leads training initiatives, supports reengineering and new business projects, and takes ownership of planning and executing large‑scale implementations. The role may also oversee subject matter experts to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Work Measurement & Productivity Optimization
Develop, maintain, and govern work measurement standards across all operations to ensure alignment with current operating conditions.
Partner with Operations to design shift plans that define staffing coverage, work assignments, and movement flows in support of customer and operational requirements.
Apply work measurement principles to improve job setups and processes, driving labor hour reduction and productivity gains.
Assess the impact of work standard changes and collaborate with Operations to develop structured implementation plans.
2. Operating Plan Development
Collaborate with Operations Managers to develop and maintain:
Master Operating Plans (MOP)
Daily Presort Plans
Seasonal and peak operating plans
Analyze existing operating plans to identify opportunities to improve process flow, workflow design, and production schedules.
Present recommendations (e.g., improved job setups, revised operating plans) to senior Engineering and Operations leadership for approval.
Develop contingency plans to manage operational disruptions and unexpected conditions.
Update operating plans to reflect new services, volume shifts, and changing operational requirements.
Conduct post‑implementation reviews to assess plan effectiveness and influence future decision‑making.
3. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement
Work with business owners and operations leaders to define strategies for cost reduction and service improvement.
Use work measurement, gap analysis, statistical analysis, and operational observations to identify performance issues and root causes.
Develop data‑driven solutions and recommendations to address operational gaps.
Participate in Business Review and Planning meetings and support execution of agreed improvement actions.
Partner with Operations teams to implement operational changes and track progress toward cost and service targets.
Audit feeder schedules in collaboration with Feeder Scheduling teams to identify opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
Advise and guide management on corrective actions to improve operating results across all functional areas.
4. Forecasting, Planning & Training Support
Review historical trends, volume forecasts, and business drivers to validate volume projections and future asset requirements.
Develop annual, quarterly, and weekly staffing projections to support cost‑effective operating plans.
Provide short‑term staffing forecasts to support hiring and workforce planning in coordination with Operations and HR.
Assess the impact of long‑ and short‑range forecasts on operating plans and recommend updates when required.
Review forecast updates to ensure continued relevance, accuracy, and alignment with Industrial Engineering standards and Business Plan objectives.
Lead or support training initiatives for Operations Management related to planning, forecasting, and engineering principles.
5. Project & Financial Management
Assume project management responsibilities for assigned initiatives, ensuring delivery against scope, timeline, and objectives.
Conduct financial and impact analysis as required to support decision‑making and project justification.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or International Equivalent (Required)
Industrial Engineering or related discipline (Preferred)
