Your role and responsibilities
The LinuxONE Sales Specialist is responsible for driving adoption of the IBM LinuxONE platform across enterprise and regulated industries. The role focuses on positioning LinuxONE as the strategic platform for secure, scalable, and AI-ready Linux workloads, helping clients modernize infrastructure, consolidate distributed environments, and run mission-critical applications with industry-leading security and resiliency.
The seller works closely with CIOs, CTOs, infrastructure leaders, and enterprise architects to lead platform transformation initiatives, including Linux consolidation, database modernization, cyber-resilience architectures, and open-source infrastructure strategies.
Required technical and professional expertise

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

4+ years experience in enterprise technology sales or platform infrastructure sales.
*
Experience selling to large enterprises, financial institutions, or regulated industries.
*
Strong understanding of Linux platforms, open-source ecosystems, and enterprise infrastructure architectures.
*
Ability to communicate complex technology solutions to executive-level stakeholders.
Preferred technical and professional experience
Business Development
*
Identify and develop opportunities to grow LinuxONE platform adoption across enterprise clients.
*
Lead sales motions around Linux consolidation, database consolidation, and mission-critical workloads on LinuxONE.
*
Position LinuxONE as a strategic platform for security, resilience, sustainability, and operational efficiency.
Client Engagement
*
Engage with CIO, CTO, CISO and infrastructure leadership teams to develop long-term platform strategies.
*
Conduct executive briefings on modern infrastructure architectures, cyber resilience, and open-source platforms.
*
Build trusted advisor relationships with senior client stakeholders.
Solution Positioning
*
Articulate the value of LinuxONE in areas such as:

Cyber security and confidential computing
*
Database consolidation
*
Open-source infrastructure
*
VMware exit strategies
*
Enterprise Linux modernization
*
Position LinuxONE against alternative platforms including x86, public cloud, and proprietary systems.
Sales Execution
*
Lead the full sales lifecycle including:

Opportunity qualification
*
Business case development
*
TCO analysis
*
Solution design coordination
*
Contract negotiation and closing
*
Collaborate with technical specialists, architects, and ecosystem partners to deliver solutions.
