Actalent Technical Project Manager in Jacksonville, Florida

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead technical documentation and engineering support for electrical panel and modular building production. The role involves overseeing a variety of projects ranging from $50K to over $5.0M, ensuring schedule, scope, and profitability are maintained. The ideal candidate will interpret technical drawings and specifications, ensuring project teams understand their contractual responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage technical documentation and manufacturing engineering support for electrical panel and modular building production.

  • Lead drawing reviews, BOM validation, and develop fabrication instructions.

  • Establish documentation standards, traveler systems, and quality checkpoints.

  • Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Project Management to ensure on-time, accurate builds.

  • Mentor technicians and junior engineers on documentation and fabrication standards.

  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for production issues.

  • Support hiring and development of Technical Services team members.

  • Support projects ranging from $50K to $5.0M+, ensuring schedule, scope, and profitability.

  • Interpret technical drawings, specifications, and commercial contracts.

  • Develop and maintain project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, change requests, schedules, and status reports.

  • Track progress, manage changes, and maintain project schedules.

  • Manage purchasing, subcontractors, and change order development and negotiation.

  • Develop cash flow plans and provide financial forecasts.

  • Serve as primary customer interface during project execution.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and contract requirements.

  • Travel up to 5% for customer and pre-bid meetings.

Essential Skills

  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

  • Ability to analyze complex electrical drawings and specifications.

  • Team-oriented, detail-focused, and adaptable.

  • 5–7+ years of experience in electrical project management, panel manufacturing, technical services, and/or quality roles.

  • Experience with utility protection and control systems and electric utilities preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or related discipline (BSEE preferred); equivalent experience considered.

  • PE and PMP certifications preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with electric utility companies or in related industries.

Work Environment

This position may require up to 5% travel for customer and pre-bid meetings. The role involves collaboration with various departments such as Production, Quality, and Project Management to ensure successful project execution. The work environment is dynamic and requires adaptability to changing project needs and schedules.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
