Real Estate Servicing Leader

The Real Estate Servicing Leader is the senior leader responsible for driving end to end real estate servicing across a diversified commercial real estate lending portfolio. This includes overseeing servicing execution, operational controls, collateral related workflows, servicing compliance, vendor oversight, borrower related servicing interactions, and data integrity across varied real estate credit structures. The ideal candidate brings broad, seasoned experience across multiple real estate lending segments and credit profiles. They must be adept at managing servicing activity across diverse collateral types, loan structures, and borrower dynamics. This role partners closely with Credit Administration, Relationship Management, Valuations, Risk, Finance, Compliance, Technology, and other enterprise servicing partners to ensure consistent, high quality servicing and strong risk governance.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Real Estate Servicing Leadership: Lead all end to end CRE loan servicing activities including loan boarding, payment processing, escrow/impound administration, covenant monitoring, and portfolio maintenance. Ensure timely, accurate servicing execution across a wide range of real estate credit structures, each with varying documentation and compliance requirements. Oversee property level financial statement collection, rent roll review, covenant testing, and performance monitoring. Manage servicing lifecycle events including maturities, extensions, modifications, restructures, payoffs, and construction draw administration.

  • Borrower, Partner & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a servicing contact for inbound borrower servicing needs related to payments, escrow, insurance, and loan terms. Provide accurate servicing information and support consistent with policy, servicing standards, and loan documentation. Ensure servicing inquiries are addressed with precision and professionalism, escalating issues appropriately without owning cross functional processes.

  • Collateral, Documentation & Compliance: Oversee servicing related collateral monitoring activities such as tracking appraisals, inspections, environmental updates, and construction progress information as required under policy. Maintain strong servicing documentation standards and file accuracy aligned with internal controls and regulatory expectations. Ensure servicing related regulatory and policy obligations are met across varied loan structures.

  • Operational Excellence & Process Optimization: Lead continuous improvement of servicing workflows with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and operational control. Identify opportunities to reduce cycle times, improve data quality, and streamline servicing processes. Partner with Technology teams to enhance servicing systems, automation, workflow tools, and reporting capabilities. Establish, monitor, and manage servicing KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics across all CRE servicing processes.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee third party servicing vendors including insurance providers/insurance tracking partners, appraisers, inspection vendors, environmental consultants, construction monitors, and documentation service firms. Set vendor performance expectations, negotiate SLAs, monitor service quality, compliance, and timeliness. Ensure all insurance related servicing requirements—coverage verification, renewals, force placement workflows, evidence of insurance, and exception resolution—are executed consistently and accurately. Maintain a structured governance framework to evaluate vendor performance and ensure alignment with servicing standards.

  • Leadership & Team Development: Lead and develop a high performing team of servicing and operations professionals. Foster a culture of accountability, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and service excellence. Support hiring, training, development, and succession planning to build deep servicing and operational expertise.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience in lending operations supporting Traditional Real Estate, Multi-Family, Structured Real Estate, and SBA Lending

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with the FIS IBS Commercial Loan Servicing System
