Responsibilities

The Supervisor, Patient Access Representative is responsible for overseeing patient registration and access and leading the team of Patient Access Representatives for Orthopedic Physician Associates (OPA). The Supervisor, Patient Access Representative also acts as a customer advocate and OPA representative, meeting the needs of our surgeons, staff, and patients throughout the clinic experience.

  • Coordinates, supervises, and is accountable for the daily activities of the patient access staff.

  • Oversees all components of patient registration, appointment scheduling, and point of service collections.

  • Ensures patient access team follows established protocols from the time of patient referral through patient registration.

  • Ensures patient access team enters all necessary information to guarantee accurate triaging and registration of new and existing patients.

  • Monitors and improves accuracy and efficiency of patient access processes.

  • Communicates across departments and stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure smooth and efficient patient access workflows.

  • Participates in identifying and hiring staff for patient access department.

  • Provides training and onboarding for new patient access representatives

  • Ensures patient access representatives meet continued competency and training requirements.

  • Ensures team members are compliant with corporate initiatives and programs.

  • Meets regularly with clinical manager and CEO.

  • Develops plans to meet short-term objectives.

  • Identifies and resolves operational problems using defined processes, expertise, and judgment.

  • Demonstrates personal responsibility for continued growth via training and education.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality.

  • Maintains safe work practices.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education Required:

  • AA degree preferred

    Experience Required:

  • 3-5 years medical office experience

  • Experience managing a team preferred

  • Knowledge and experience with EMRs/PMs, NextGen preferred

  • Knowledge of medical terminology

  • Knowledge of insurance plans

    USD $29.00/Hr. USD $31.00/Hr.
