Robert Half Network Engineer in Jacksonville, Florida
Description
We’re hiring a Network Engineer to design, support, and optimize our network infrastructure. This role focuses on routing, switching, firewalls, wireless technologies, and network security across a multi‑site or cloud‑connected environment.
What You’ll Do
Configure and manage routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
Monitor performance, uptime, and traffic patterns across LAN/WAN
Troubleshoot network issues and resolve outages quickly
Implement network security best practices (ACLs, segmentation, IDS/IPS)
Maintain documentation: diagrams, inventory, IP schemas, standards
Support cloud networking (Azure/AWS virtual networks, load balancers, gateways)
Assist in network upgrades, migrations, and new deployments
Partner with security, systems, and infrastructure teams
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
3–6+ years of network engineering or administration experience
Strong background in Cisco, Meraki, Juniper, or similar platforms
Knowledge of routing/switching protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLANs)
Experience with firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco ASA)
Understanding of network security and monitoring tools
Bonus: SD‑WAN, VoIP, Azure/AWS networking, automation (Python/Ansible)
