Actalent Mechanical Design Engineer in Jacksonville, Florida

Description

Mechanical / Design Engineer Primary Responsibilities -Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, parametric assemblies, detailed drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation for standard and custom product designs. -Perform engineering analyses (FEA, CFD, calculations) to evaluate design feasibility, identify risks, and support design decisions. -Prepare specifications, design reports, and test documentation while maintaining accurate revision control per company and quality standards. -Support new product development and continuous improvement initiatives from concept through production release with a focus on reliability, manufacturability, and cost optimization. -Develop and maintain engineering standards, templates, tools, and drafting guidelines; ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulatory requirements. -Provide technical support to sales, project management, manufacturing, procurement, and field service teams, including vendor and submittal reviews. -Participate in design reviews, prototype builds, testing, audits, and certification activities as required. -Collaborate cross‑functionally to meet project deliverables and continuously improve engineering processes. -Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications -Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering discipline. -Experience: 1–2 years of relevant engineering or design experience. Preferred Qualifications -Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP). -Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD Mechanical, Inventor, or similar CAD tools. -Experience with SolidWorks PDM. -Sheet metal design and steel fabrication experience. -Knowledge of welding practices and applicable codes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $85000.00/hr.
