Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for an Automation Engineering Technician IV to be based on site in Jacksonville, FL.

The Automation Engineering Technician IV is a recognized specialist within the controls environment, and will operate in a lead capacity giving direction to on shift technicians driving machine uptime. As a technical lead this position has broad opportunities of exposure to new and changing environments. You will have direct impact on new equipment installations, obsolescing equipment as replacements and upgrades as they are directly supporting equipment across 3 generations of production equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fault-find sophisticated automation equipment.

  • Work with the team to develop strong proficiencies problem solving within the lens manufacturing environment.

  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of all control systems currently in use across the entire plant including PLC’s, vision systems, lasers, Barcode readers, RFiD readers, Robots and networks.

  • Develop and publish comprehensive trouble shooting articles for sophisticated problems.

  • Be part of the knowledge transfer process growing the technical skills of on shift personnel.

  • Operate as first point of contact for automation software related line down problems.

  • Work directly with Automation Engineers to develop solutions for line run ability issues.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent diploma required; degree or relevant certifications are a plus

Skills & Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant work experience

  • Proven record for completing tasks with a driven desire for solving problems

Preferred:

  • Experience within an industrial manufacturing environment

  • Experience with PLC Programming languages and troubleshooting (such as Rockwell and/or Siemens)

  • Minimum two (2) years of computing or software environment experience

  • Proficient knowledge of robots and servo control systems

  • Work experience within a Medical Device manufacturing environment

  • Proficient understanding of logical and sequence controls
