This hands-on engineering role is responsible for designing, building, and implementing AI-powered workflow automation solutions to drive operational and financial value across Infrastructure Operations. The AI Process Engineer will lead technical initiatives, deliver scalable automation, and serve as a subject matter expert for workflow automation and AI integration across ICE’s mission-critical environments. The role requires excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end delivery of AI and automation projects, from ideation and requirements gathering through deployment and monitoring.
Design, develop, and maintain robust workflows in collaboration with other engineers and business users.
Serve as the technical SME for AI workflow automation, providing guidance on best practices.
Gather and apply lessons learned from organizational feedback, ensuring continuous improvement in AI build initiatives.
Ensure that all automation solutions comply with ICE’s security, compliance, and change management standards.
Knowledge and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of professional experience in engineering or process automation roles.
Minimum 2 years of direct, hands-on experience leading and building AI/automated solutions.
Demonstrated ability to identify, architect, build, and deploy workflow automations at scale.
Strong knowledge of two or more workflow orchestration tools such as n8n, PowerAutomate, Copilot Studio, and Moveworks.
Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, prompt engineering, and vector databases.
Programming skills in JavaScript and Python.
Strong analytical and critical thinking.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience with ServiceNow, Polar, BigPanda, and/or other enterprise tools.
Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (Lean/Six Sigma, Agile, etc.).
Experience working in a highly regulated industry (banking, aerospace, automotive, etc.)
