About the Role

The Maintenance Technician maintains and repairs production and manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this role involves regular services, preventative and predictive maintenance, and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. The technician collaborates with team members to maximize efficiency and adheres to all safety and quality standards. Additionally, they use computerized maintenance management systems to organize work orders and document maintenance activities accurately.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to all established Kerry LIFE Safety, Food Safety, GMP, HACCP, and processing policies with an eye towards quality.

  • Follow all LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures while performing work on equipment.

  • Never take shortcuts or use improper tools/equipment that could compromise safety.

  • Ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment, including

  • Performs regular (continuous) services for internal customers.

  • Conducts preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.

  • Troubleshoots equipment breakdowns.

  • Troubleshoots electrical issues up to 480V systems.

  • PLC programming and troubleshooting.

  • Work with team members to achieve the highest efficiency.

  • Work with computerized maintenance management system technology to organize work orders.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High School diploma required or technical school preferred; three to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge and ability to operate production machines, forklifts, scissor lifts, and related equipment.

  • Ability to use various hand and power tools.

  • Ability to understand and effectively carry out oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to perform a variety of repetitive manual tasks that require agility and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to work with strong cleaning solutions.

  • Knowledge of the following areas

  • Welding/Fabrication

  • Hydraulics/Pneumatics

  • Building maintenance

  • Electrical/Electronics/PLC/Instrumentation/Drives

  • HVAC

  • Forklift (maintenance/operation)

  • Lockout/Tagout

  • Blueprints/schematics/building plans

  • Preventative Maintenance and workload organization

    The typical hiring range for this role is $35 per hour and is based on several factors including but not limited to education work experience, certifications, location, etc. In addition to your pay, Kerry offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and retirement contribution (all benefits and incentives are subject to eligibility requirements).
