OverviewWe are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team.In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, assisting them in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life. Your work will involve fostering independence and promoting dignity for those in your care, ensuring they receive the necessary support in a safe and nurturing environment.Case DetailsFriday 6 pm to Sunday 6 pm LIVE-IN one weekend a month. It will be the second weekend of every month.Client requires continuous supervision and must remain within line of sight at all times due to behavioral support needs.Client is a homebody so most of the activities will be at home. She loves fashion magazines and catalogs. Client is looking for companionship on the weekend. Staff will have to direct her to help with household chores such as cleaning her room, washing dishes and assisting in cooking small meals. DSP would need to do the client's laundry and put it away.DutiesAssist with daily living activities (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, organizing, and meal preparation.Provide support for individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their needs are met in a respectful manner.Engage client in meaningful activities that promote social interaction and personal development accordingly.Support the individual in the home and within the communityAdminister CPR and first aid when necessaryRequirements1 year experience working in a private home or in a group setting as a DSP or home health aidFirst Aid and CPR Certified1 year experience working with people with disabilities, elderly, and special needs1 year experience working with individuals with emotional and behavioral disordersUnderstanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality.Ability to assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) effectively.Strong communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving.Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.Reliable transportationPlease submit your resume to ganane@njcircleofstrength.com for review and consideration.
