The Cornell University Hospital for Animals (CUHA) is seeking a skilled and collaborative Farrier to join the Equine and Nemo Farm Animal Hospital (ENFAH) located in Ithaca, NY. This is a unique opportunity to combine clinical excellence, instruction, and collaboration within a worldclass veterinary teaching hospital. The Farrier is responsible for all hoof care instruction and clinical services within the College of Veterinary Medicine and Cornell University Hospital for Animals. The position provides comprehensive farrier services across Cornell University, including care for ENFAH patients and Cornellowned horses. In addition to clinical responsibilities, this position serves as lead instructor for the Farrier Certificate Program, a 16week intensive program offered three times per year for individuals seeking to advance their professional farrier skills and one-week Advanced Farrier Training program experience This position works closely with Department of Clinical Sciences (DCS) faculty and may report directly to a veterinarianfarrier faculty member. Required Qualifications: Employees working in the hospital must receive the pre-exposure rabies prophylaxis vaccination series prior to or immediately after hire, which will be paid for by the department. Important Details about the Position * This is an onsite position located in Ithaca, NY. * We are unable to provide Visa sponsorship, now or in the future, for this position. While the regular business hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, the specific schedule may change to meet the needs of the business, requiring employees to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and University holidays and scheduled breaks.
