Job Description
The Milling / Rolling Press Operator is responsible for safely operating, monitoring, and maintaining milling and rolling press equipment used in the production of specialty materials and chemical products. This role supports manufacturing operations by ensuring product quality, meeting production targets, and maintaining compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards at the Itasca facility.
Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor milling and rolling press equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Adjust machine settings such as speed, pressure, temperature, and feed rates to meet product specifications.
Load raw materials and unload finished or semi-finished products using appropriate material handling equipment.
Perform in-process inspections and measurements to ensure product quality, consistency, and tolerances.
Document production data, batch records, and quality checks accurately and in a timely manner.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with maintenance or engineering as needed.
Perform routine preventative maintenance, cleaning, and changeovers on assigned equipment.
Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements.
Maintain good housekeeping practices in accordance with 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Support continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, quality, and productivity.
Comply with all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards.
Assist with training of new operators when required.
Essential Skills
Ability to lift 30 lbs. occasionally.
6 months of manufacturing experience.
Some machine operating experience.
Safety oriented.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in solder manufacturing is considered an advantage.

Work Environment
The work environment is well-lit and organized, with small presses located in the 940 building. Employees will work in various departments. The facility includes a CLEAN ROOM, where safety shoes, shoe covers, and beard/hair nets are required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Itasca, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $26.00/hr.
