What you’ll do:
Electrical Design & Engineering
• Lead and contribute to the design of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities, including hyperscale and enterprise data centres.
• Develop comprehensive electrical system designs, encompassing medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) distribution, transformers, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems, protection schemes, and grounding systems.
• Support all stages of the electrical design process - concept, preliminary, and detailed design across multiple client accounts.
• Carry out essential engineering tasks such as electrical calculations, equipment selection, and technical validation to ensure robust solutions.
• Lead the preparation of technical proposals and creation of detailed engineering documentation.
• Organise and conduct both internal and client-facing technical meetings to facilitate collaboration and decision-making.
• Represent Eaton’s electrical engineering capabilities in discussions with customers and engineering partners.
• Address complex engineering challenges that require coordination across multiple regions.
• Assist in the development of client-specific electrical reference designs and technical standards tailored to customer needs.
• Support engineering coordination for large-scale programmes.
• Provide technical support for complex projects and strategic initiatives.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of long-term technical partnerships with key strategic accounts.
Modular and Digital Engineering Integration
• Assist with the integration of electrical design for modular and prefabricated data centre solutions.
• Contribute to the development of repeatable electrical design solutions and reference architectures that enhance efficiency and quality.
• Support the integration of electrical systems within Building Information Modelling (BIM)-led design workflows.
• Collaborate closely with BIM and digital engineering teams to ensure accurate representation of electrical systems.
• Assist in the development of standardised modular electrical platforms as appropriate.
Technical Governance & Quality
• Review and validate electrical engineering deliverables to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with requirements.
• Support engineering quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes across projects.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to Eaton’s engineering standards and specific customer requirements.
• Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks during project execution.
• Participate in structured engineering design reviews to maintain high standards of quality and safety.
Project and Site Support
• Provide remote engineering support for projects and undertake periodic site visits as required.
• Conduct on-site inspections to observe and verify electrical installations where necessary.
• Support technical validation and commissioning activities during project handover and close-out phases.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Experience with design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit is advantageous.
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in electrical engineering design within mission-critical or similar sectors, ideally in data centers.
Skills:
• Demonstrated expertise in a full range of electrical design services, including MV and LV distribution, transformers, UPS systems, grounding, and protection schemes.
• Comprehensive knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards, including IEC standards, as well as international best practices.
• Skilled in value engineering and integrating emerging technologies to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions for global clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and able to take initiative to achieve project objectives.
• Professional demeanour with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental stewardship.
