Due to continued growth, an Assistant Manager opportunity has arisen within the expanding Financial Services (FS) Audit team. This position offers exposure to a varied client portfolio, regular interaction with Partners and senior leadership, and clear progression opportunities within a high‑performing environment.
The Position
The Assistant Manager position is responsible for managing audit engagements from planning through to completion, while supporting Managers and Partners in delivering high‑quality audit services. The position also includes coaching and development of junior team members and contributing to the continued growth of the Financial Services audit practice.
The Financial Services audit portfolio includes regulated entities, funds, SPVs and investment structures across multiple jurisdictions, regulatory regimes and accounting standards, including UK GAAP and IFRS.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, manage and deliver Financial Services audit engagements from start to completion
Review audit work, financial statements and reports to ensure quality, accuracy and compliance with UK GAAP and IFRS
Manage budgets, timelines and resources across engagements
Act as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships
Support Managers and Partners with engagement delivery and technical matters
Coach, mentor and develop junior team members through effective feedback and on‑the‑job training
Provide technical input on audit, accounting and regulatory matters and contribute to internal training initiatives
Identify opportunities to improve audit processes and efficiency
Support business development activities and contribute to the growth of the Financial Services audit practice
Skills, Experience and Attributes
ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
Proven experience managing and delivering audit engagements, ideally within Financial Services
Experience reviewing work and supporting the development of junior team members
Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Confident communicator with strong client‑facing and interpersonal skills
Proactive, solutions‑focused approach with a commitment to audit quality and continuous improvement
