Read more at www.dsv.comLocation: USA - Iselin, Wood AveDivision:Air & Sea Job Posting Title: Freight Forwarder, Ocean Import & Export Time Type: Full TimeSummaryA Freight Forwarder is responsible for managing the importation and exportation of goods by ocean, including all aspects of the logistics process such as customs clearance, carrier booking, cargo tracking, documentation, delivery or pick up of goods, and communication with customers and third party service providers. This role involves coordinating with various parties including carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.Duties and Responsibilities- Manage the importation of goods by ocean, including customs clearance and delivery to thefinal destination- Manage the exportation of goods by ocean, including carrier booking and managing the movement of goods through various transportation channels.- Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensuretimelydelivery of goods- Prepare, process,submitrequired documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork- Track andmonitorshipments and provide regular updates to customers on the status of their shipments- Manage relationships with customers, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or issues that may arise- Collaborate with other internal departments, such aslogistics, finance, and operations, to ensuretimelyand efficient service delivery- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws- All other duties as assignedEducational background / Work experience- Prior experience in freightforwarding,logistics, or a related field is preferred- Experience inoceanimportand exportis highly desirableSkills & CompetenciesMathematical Skills- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as calculating costs and ratesOther Skills- Excellent organizational and time management skills- Strong communicationand interpersonal skills- Attention to detail and accuracy- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environmentFunction / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes- Knowledge ofoceanfreightlogisticsand customs regulations- Understanding of trade laws and regulationsLanguage skills- Fluency in English isrequired- Knowledge ofadditionallanguages is a plusComputer Literacy- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite- Experience withlogisticssoftware and systems is preferred- Prior use of CargoWise a plusAt Will EmploymentDSV Air & Sea Inc. employees are hired for an undefinedperiod of timeas "at will" employees.
