Wells Fargo Senior Database Engineer in IRVING, Texas
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Database Engineer.
In this role, you will:
Lead or participate in database management activities including designing highly complex logical and physical databases
Lead highly complex data modeling, mapping, integration, and capacity planning efforts
Perform the planning, research, design, implementation, maintenance, and control of server class databases
Design and implement security solutions including Center for Internet Security benchmarks and auditing
Design and certify next generation database technologies
Consult with and advise management and multiple clients on high impact data or database management issues, influencing strategic direction
Provide technical leadership and recommendation into the future direction of database technology
Develop management policies, procedures, standards, and best practices
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Database Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4+ years of experience in supporting software development life cycle for large-scale distributed technology projects and migrations
3+ years of expertise and experience with Oracle Exadata and Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance (ZDLRA)
Strong Background in Exadata machine administration or other UNIX System Administration experience
Experience with Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture including Oracle Real Application Clustering (RAC), Data Guard and Golden Gate
Deep expertise in Oracle patching, Fleet Patching & Provisioning (FPP), and patch automation at scale.
Desired Qualifications:
Oracle 26ai Database experience
Experience in complex or critical data/ database management initiatives and projects
Knowledgeable in programming or scripting languages - (Ansible, Python, Shell, REST APIs)
Experience leading major Oracle version upgrades in enterprise environments especially upgrading from 19c to 23ai/26ai
Experience with Oracle Database backup and restore
Experience leveraging AI to deliver exceptional technical and business capabilities.
Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and tools
Strong technical and task/timeline-oriented skills necessary to ensure projects are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Experience with all forms of automation a plus.
Job Expectations:
Work collaboratively with Architect, Engineers, and Operations team to deliver best in class Oracle Database solutions and services
This position offers a hybrid work schedule

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities.
$100,000.00 - $179,000.00
