Insight Global Mechanical Engineering Intern in Irving, Texas
Job Description
Assist with mechanical design tasks for baggage handling equipment (BHS): conveyors, sorters, chutes, diverters, pallets, rollers, and housings.
Support CAD modeling and drawing development using Revit.
Perform basic engineering analyses under supervision.
Help develop test plans and participate in laboratory and field testing of components and systems.
Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, software, and commissioning teams to ensure seamless system integration.
Create technical documentation, including bill of materials (BOMs).
Assist with safety reviews, risk assessments relevant to airport baggage handling as needed.
Participate in site visits or commissioning activities at airports or testing facilities as required, adhering to all safety and security protocols.

Skills and Requirements
Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a closely related field with at least 60 hours of completed hours.
Fundamentals in mechanical design, dynamics, materials, and manufacturing processes.
Proficiency with Revit.
Basic understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes, and machinist practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Effective written and verbal communication skills; ability to document findings clearly.
