Penmac Staffing is seeking an experienced Shop Technician to support a heavy industrial repair facility specializing in rotating equipment rebuilds and mechanical repair. If you have hands-on experience working with gearboxes, shafts, bearings, and other rotating machinery, this is an excellent long-term opportunity with strong growth potential.
What Youll Do As a Shop Technician, youll perform the complete teardown, inspection, repair, and rebuild of rotating equipment used in industrial and manufacturing environments.
Daily responsibilities include: Disassembling and rebuilding gearboxes, shafts, bearings, crushers, and other rotating machinery Inspecting gears, housings, weldments, and bearings for wear or failure Measuring components using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and dial indicators Performing structural and repair welding on carbon steel Completing shaft alignments using dial indicator or laser methods Verifying tolerances, clearances, endplay, and coupling specs Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and material-handling equipment Following all shop safety, LOTO, and housekeeping procedures
What Were Looking For
Qualified candidates will have: 5+ years of heavy industrial equipment repair experience Strong background with rotating mechanical equipment (gearboxes, bearings, shafts, crushers, etc.) Ability to independently complete teardown, inspection, and rebuilds Structural welding skills on carbon steel Precision measurement experience (.001-.002 tolerances) Experience performing shaft alignments Understanding of mechanical fits and tolerances Forklift and overhead crane experience Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Must have own tools Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Schedule, Pay and Benefits Pay: $26.70-$32.00/hour Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm Overtime availableflexibility required Immediate medical insurance through Penmac Eligibility for 401(k) and Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) for long-term employees
