Job Title: Quality Control Technician / Quality Inspector
Job Description
The Quality Control Technician is responsible for reviewing, inspecting, dispositioning, approving, and releasing raw materials, labeling, and finished product lots within a cleanroom manufacturing environment. This role ensures that all materials and products meet established quality standards and documentation requirements, while supporting QA/QC Management with additional quality-related tasks as needed.
Responsibilities
Inspect and disposition incoming raw materials and labels in accordance with established procedures and specifications.
Review work order documentation thoroughly prior to product release to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
Prepare non-conformity documentation for material disposition when quality issues or deviations are identified.
Prepare release documentation and appropriate traceability labeling for incoming materials and finished product lots.
Provide quality control approvals for selected processes performed in the cleanroom manufacturing environment.
Coordinate HPLC testing activities with the Quality Assurance Chemistry team to support product release and investigations.
Conduct proactive reviews of quality-related procedures, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality instructions (Q.I.s), RIRs, and component specifications, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with quality leads and management to communicate quality issues, propose solutions, and support corrective and preventive actions.
Use computer systems and Microsoft applications to complete quality records, reports, and documentation accurately and on time.
Perform other quality-related duties as assigned by QA/QC Management to support overall quality system effectiveness.
Essential Skills
High school diploma or equivalent education.
Preferably 2 years of inspection experience in a medical device or similar regulated manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience with inspection of raw materials, labels, and finished products.
Experience working in a cleanroom or controlled manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail and focus, with the ability to identify discrepancies and anomalies in materials and documentation.
Basic understanding of good manufacturing practices (GMP) and good documentation practices (GDP).
Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures accurately.
Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions in a fast-paced environment.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as other software used for quality documentation.
Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal form.
Ability to communicate ideas, problems, and solutions effectively to quality leads and management.
Ability to collaborate and work productively in a team environment.
Willingness and ability to work overtime and/or weekends based on business needs.
Ability to serve as a backup for second-shift support when required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in medical device quality control or quality inspection.
Familiarity with HPLC testing coordination and interaction with QA Chemistry teams.
Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints or technical drawings.
Understanding of quality control principles within a regulated manufacturing setting.
Comfort working with quality procedures such as SOPs, quality instructions, RIRs, and component specifications.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple lots, documents, and release activities.
Proactive mindset with a willingness to identify and suggest improvements to quality processes.

Work Environment
This role operates in a cleanroom and manufacturing environment that follows strict quality and cleanliness standards. You will work closely with production, QA/QC, and chemistry teams, using inspection tools, documentation systems, and Microsoft Office applications to complete your tasks. The schedule may include overtime and occasional weekend work depending on business needs, with the possibility of providing backup support for a second shift when required. The environment emphasizes adherence to good manufacturing and documentation practices, teamwork, and consistent, detail-oriented work.

This is a Contract position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
