Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer
Job Description
The Embedded Software Engineer will lead the development of software-defined radio systems supporting telecommunication services in deep space. This role includes designing and implementing embedded C/C++ software, and architecting mechanisms for FPGA and processor initialization. The engineer will be responsible for software system integration, debugging, and ensuring requirements traceability while working closely with FPGA Engineers.
Responsibilities
Lead the development of software-defined radio systems for deep space telecommunication services.
Design and implement embedded C/C++ software solutions.
Architect and implement mechanisms for FPGA and processor initialization.
Own software system integration and debugging processes.
Ensure requirements traceability is maintained throughout development.
Collaborate closely with FPGA Engineers to ensure seamless integration.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Embedded C and C++ programming.
Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Strong skills in Python programming.
Experience in spaceflight and telecommunication systems.
Ability to architect and implement software solutions.
Understanding of FPGA toolchains.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Experience in space flight development.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irvine, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85.00 - $95.00/hr.
