Infinite Electronics International, Inc Director of Product Portfolio Management in Irvine, California
Position Overview:
The Director of Product Portfolio Management is a senior management role responsible for leading the strategic direction, performance, and optimization of the established product portfolios for each business unit throughout the product lifecycle (from new product introduction to EOL). This leader will manage and mentor a team of product resources focused on maximizing the performance of the product portfolio and ensuring the portfolio is aligned with business objectives, market needs, and financial targets. This role will also execute process improvement projects across various functions within the Business Unit.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior product leaders to drive strategic execution and innovation.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Work closely with supporting groups across the organization including Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance.
Ensure alignment between product strategy and organizational capabilities.
Product Performance Improvement
Perform competitive benchmarking (markets, costs, prices, availability)
Perform product performance analysis (rev/margin/vol/customers/markets) from product line to sku level and execute actions to improve performance metrics including (rev/margin/volume/customers) by product line.
Determine optimal product pricing considering competitive factors
Evaluate and determine optimal sales channels (in collaboration with sales channel teams)
Contribute to improving customer experience
Product Data Management/Enhancement:
Maintain and update all product data/specs used to market all existing products
Develop product data to support cross-brand and solution selling, alternative product options, etc.
Product Marketing and Promotion
Collaborate with marketing to promote products and their applications, develop product description to maximize SEO, AEO, PPC, and identify solution options.
Product Technical Sales Support:
Provide product training to all sales functions including: Customer Service, Inside Sales, Outside Sales, Inside Technial Sales, Field Technical sales resources, and Distributors.
Engage directly with customers to provide technical support as needed
Project Management
Drive improvements in overall processes within the portfolio and across the business unit to enhance efficiencies
Work with other functional leaders and across the overall business to identify areas for change, driving meaningful and measurable improvements within the Product, Portfolio and Sales organizations
Product EOL and Inventory Optimization
Determine optimal product inventory mix (in collaboration with Inventory Mgt and Supply Chain)
Determine/plan EOL, and associate inventory wind-down
Develop Alternate and/or substitute products for EOL products
Communicate EOL plans to sales and operations teams
Partner with Supply chain to drive efficient inventory turns and supply chain alignment to support business goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related technical field is required.
MBA or advanced degree is strongly preferred.
15+ years of experience in product management, portfolio strategy, or business leadership, with significant exposure to RF technologies.
Strong understanding of RF, Fiber Optic, and Surge protection technologies and their applications, preferred
Proven track record of managing complex product portfolios and leading cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated ability to drive profitability, operational efficiency, and strategic growth.
Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to execution.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
Physical/Environmental Requirements
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
Constantly communicates with candidates, employees and leaders, both verbally and in writing.
Constantly operates a laptop or computer.
Work environment is typically an office environment during normal or extended business hours.
Must be able to travel up to 10%, domestic and international.
