MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST
Aspirus Ironwood Clinic, Ironwood, WI
Full Time (1.0 FTE, 80 hours every pay period)
Varied Day/Evening shifts to also cover Walk-In Clinic hours, occasional weekends

Job Duties:
Provides leadership and direction to the reception team.
Responsible for completing staff schedule and time keeping in a timely fashion. Adjust staffing appropriately based on clinic operating needs, volumes and staff requests.
Provides instruction to staff regarding software changes, operational processes and EMR usage.
Assists in providing direction, coaching and delegation of tasks to patient access team staff.
Assesses performance of other receptionists, assesses quality of service, and plans performance improvement activities.
Greets, registers and assists patients in a professional manner.
Efficiently schedule patient appointments according to established parameters as defined by office policy and procedure.
Obtains and maintains complete and accurate registration records.
Answer all phone calls, provide routine information to callers and transfers calls to appropriate individuals in a courteous and professional manner.
Experience/Qualifications:
Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with patients, employees and the public.
Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities
Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of professionalism.
Ability to anticipate, and willingly accept, the need for change.
Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, under pressure, with time constraints.
Ability to maintain confidentiality

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
