Summary
CHS is hiring an Experienced Engineer to support the Lubricants business at the Inver Grove Heights manufacturing facility. This role provides process engineering leadership, continuous improvement, and capital project execution to improve plant safety, efficiency, utilization, and reliability. The Engineer partners closely with maintenance, operations, and cross‑functional engineering teams across CHS to deliver data‑driven solutions, support asset reliability, and align plant initiatives with enterprise standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
Lead process engineering and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and reliability
Plan, design, and implement process engineering projects to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety
Prepare engineering documents including calculations, drawings, material lists, schedules, and operating instructions
Research and evaluate repair and improvement opportunities to ensure cost‑effective and reliable solutions
Develop, monitor, and improve plant KPIs and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
Plan, manage, and support capital projects and equipment upgrades from concept through execution
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery
Supervise and support plant maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance and reliability efforts
Maintain accurate engineering, maintenance, and equipment documentation
Collaborate with CHS engineering teams to align with enterprise standards, practices, and safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications (required)
2+ years of manufacturing plant, process, or project engineering experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial preferred)
Additional Qualifications
High School diploma or GED preferred
Lubricant or chemical manufacturing experience
Maintenance, reliability, or preventative maintenance program experience
Experience working with vendors, contractors, or maintenance teams

CHS offers a competitive total rewards package. Compensation includes base wage and, depending upon position, may include other earnings such as bonus, incentives and commissions. Actual pay offered will vary based on multiple factors which may include, without limitation, experience, education, training, specialized skills and certifications, minimum wage/salary requirements under local law.
