Job Description

The Quality Control Lab Analyst will work in a modern ingredient manufacturing laboratory focused on corn starch products. In this role, you ensure product quality and safety by performing rigorous testing and analysis on raw materials and finished products, using a range of analytical instruments and following strict laboratory standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct raw materials testing to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • The day-to-day testing is unique to the industry so most of the instrumentation will be new to most candidates.

  • Perform a variety of analytical tests independently and accurately, following established test procedures.

  • Utilize industry-specific instrumentation such as viscosity meters, moisture analyzers, Near-Infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, PH, Moisture Balance, Protein Analysis, Viscosity, Inductively Coupled Plasma (ICP) spectrometry, and other relevant equipment.

  • Maintain complete, accurate, and legible test records in accordance with company policies and record-keeping procedures.

  • Adhere to all safety and quality guidelines, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and lab safety requirements.

  • Assist in the development and validation of new testing methods and procedures.

  • Collaborate with other departments to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.

  • Participate in routine equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure accurate test results.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the QC department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field required.

  • Relevant experience in supporting microbiology, chemistry, food or ingredient manufacturing experience is a plus.

  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, ability to address, and ability to follow precise procedures.

Skills

  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Familiarity with GMP, GLP, and lab safety protocols.

  • Experience supporting continuous improvement or process optimization in a laboratory or production environment.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address quality issues.

  • Effective communication skills to clearly report test results and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
