About Neurodiagnostic Institute :

The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is located on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis, delivering advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness. Together, the NDI and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) offer a modern, healing atmosphere for all Hoosiers.

Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $31,512.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

A Day in the Life:

Medication Preparation & Dispensing

  • Prepare medications for dispensing according to provider orders and nursing staff requests to support timely and accurate patient care.

  • Receive prescription and refill requests and verify completeness and accuracy to ensure safe medication delivery.

Inventory & Storage Management

  • Maintain proper storage and security conditions for medications to preserve integrity and comply with safety standards.

  • Receive daily medication orders from wholesalers to maintain adequate inventory levels.

  • Ensure medication security during delivery and restocking of medications on nursing units.

  • Ensure efficient inventory management, including procurement, processing of invoices and management of inventory levels in unit-based Automated Dispensing Cabinets.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Perform routine inspections of controlled substance and medication storage.

  • May perform electronic adjudication of prescription claims.

Team Support & Communication

  • Assist staff by answering routine questions, locating items, or referring them to the pharmacist fo medication information.

  • Maintain regular attendance at assigned worksite(s) to ensure consistent service delivery and team coordination.

Workday attendance at assigned worksite(s) is an essential function of this position.

What You'll Need for Success:

Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:

  • Ability to maintain records and responsibility for controlled substances.

  • Ability to ensure inventory control of drugs and supplies.

  • Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Ability to use various equipment including computers and pharmaceutical repackaging equipment.

Displaying Technical Expertise

  • Knowledge of state and federal law, guidelines, and regulations of pharmaceuticals.

  • Ability to use and knowledge of the computerized pharmacy medication ordering system and the automated medication dispensing systems.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, medications, and dosage measurements.

Education & Experience

  • Must have a current Pharmacy Technician license issued by the State of Indiana or be enrolled in a technician training program and possess a technician-in-training permit.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
