CBRE Mechanical Engineer - Capital Projects in Indianapolis, Indiana
About the role
The Mechanical Project Engineer position will support capital project delivery at a major client site. They will act as an onsite technical resource that works closely with the Project Manager to ensure all technical aspects of project delivery have been accurately identified and implemented throughout the project lifecycle. Furthermore, this position ensures flawless integration of project deliverables into onsite CBRE operations and maintenance teams. This position takes direction from the Project Manager but formally reports to the Director of Project Management.
This role is on-site at our client's campus in Indianapolis 3-4 days a week.
What you’ll do
Ensure alignment between operations and maintenance personnel and project delivery team throughout project duration.
Assist Project Manager in the development of project planning work.
Work with external consultants to explore project alternatives and arrive at a project scope consistent with site standards that achieve the project objective in a fiscally responsible manner.
Provide technical mentorship of Commissioning and Qualification work on your assigned projects to ensure both engineering and quality requirements have been achieved before the asset is put into service.
Actively participate in routine project meetings and report back to the Project Manager as it relates to your work you're leading.
Author change control for assigned projects and ensure accurate completion of all child records along with parent record.
Perform and document Measurement Uncertainty calculations for critical instrumentation.
Build and / or modify Lockout-Tagout protocols for new or modified equipment.
Author a Facility Protection Plan for projects being implemented in occupied areas.
Complete data loader for new and / or modified assets to be uploaded into computerized maintenance management system.
Perform field verification of drawing redlines.
At the completion of the project, ensure all project drawings have been accurately uploaded into the drawing management system and reflect the installed condition.
Assist Project Manager in the coordination of environmental sampling needed to return area to service.
Revise and / or build Standard Operating Procedures.
Ensure all projects are carried out in a manner consistent with our CBRE Zero Incident safety culture.
Prioritization of your assigned tasks in order to meet project objectives
Ensure timely communication with Project Manager on your assigned projects.
Ensure direct, indirect, and / or outsourced service providers and vendors provide consistent, high-quality services.
Candidate must possess a strong ability to multitask while supporting numerous projects at any given time.

What you’ll need
Bachelor’s degree in engineering technology or engineering preferred.
Proven understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems required.
Proven understanding of Commissioning and Qualification deliverables preferred.
Prior experience working within a Pharmaceutical site preferred.

What You’ll Need:
Experience with CMMS, especially Corrigo a plus.
High School Diploma or GED with 2-3 years of job-related experience.
An established understanding of work routines and standards and applying skills and knowledge in a range of processes, procedures, and systems are required.
Requires intermediate problem-solving skills with the capacity to review and select solutions from available options without supervisory approval.
Ability to explain detailed and complicated information within the team clearly and concisely.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Strong organizational skills with a robust inquisitive mindset.
General math skills. Ability to calculate advanced figures such as percentages, discounts, and markups. or complicated information within the team.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Sr Facilities Coordinator position is $75,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Sr Facilities Coordinator position is $78,000 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program.
