Piezo Technologies Manufacturing Technician - Assembly, 2nd shift in Indianapolis, Indiana
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Technician will perform assignments that may not be completely standardized, as well as those that are very specific and require heavy attention to detail. Selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents. Receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed; performs recurring work independently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity with instructions.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Constructs components, subunits, or simple models or adapts standard equipment. May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
Follows specific layout and scientific diagrams to construct and package simple devices and subunits of equipment.
Conducts various tests or experiments that may require minor modifications in test setups or procedures as well as subjective judgments in measurement; selects, sets up, and operates standard test equipment and records test data.
Extracts and compiles a variety of engineering data from field notes, manuals, lab reports, etc.; processes data, identifying errors or inconsistencies; selects methods of data presentation.
Assists in design modification by compiling data related to design, specifications, and materials that are pertinent to specific items of equipment or component parts.
Develops information concerning previous operational failures and modifications.
Uses judgment and initiative to recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seek sources to clarify information.
Supports the facilities function as needed.
Wear proper personal protective equipment as necessary including but not limited to: eye and hearing protection, safety shoes, lab coats, gloves, dust masks and respirators.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience/Background
2+ years of relevant experience
3+ years of experience in a relevant lab test environment
Vocational training, apprenticeships, or the equivalent experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
This position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a U.S. person or protected individual within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines U.S. persons and protected individuals as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), U.S. Temporary Resident, Political Asylee or Refugee
Skills
Proficiency in operating electrical lab test equipment.
Ability to write Standard Work Instructions (SWI) for statements of work in manufacturing transitions.
Experience reading design specifications and technical drawings.
Ongoing manufacturing support and engineering insight to other support staff.
Ability to handle multiple projects and to work alongside peers.
Experience with continuous improvement environment
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and web-browser
Experience in 2D drawing and specification interpretation and electro/mechanical analysis preferred.
Experience with fabrication of light manufacturing/test equipment (i.e. tables, fixtures, brackets) preferred
Experience in content/document management preferred and maintain development documentation for traceability.
Experience using quality gauges, micrometers, calipers, microscope preferred
CAD experience preferred
Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to manage time and prioritize responsibilities
Able to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, policies and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
Must be highly motivated, self-starter and work as a team player
Must have high levels of attention to detail and quality, be able to multitask and stay organized
Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally
Must be able to occasionally move about in production areas as needed
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Education
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent. Combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.
ENVIRONMENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Manufacturing / Non-Sedentary Requirements
Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work may be performed in an office or warehouse environment. Typically requires the ability to spend 66%+ hours each work day doing the following activities: stand for extended periods of time, walk, bend, stoop, or climb. May have possible exposure to dust, and may require the ability to lift and/or push up to 50 pounds 33% - 66% of the time.
