Job Title: Electrician Foreman

Job Description

Lead large commercial and industrial electrical projects, typically valued at $100K or more, while overseeing installation quality, safety, productivity, and crew development. Serve as the on-site authority for planning, sequencing, and problem-solving across a variety of electrical and solar projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily field operations on large commercial and industrial electrical projects.

  • Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and productivity standards in alignment with company procedures and project specifications.

  • Act as the on-site authority for planning, sequencing, scheduling, and resolving technical and logistical issues.

  • Communicate professionally and consistently with customers, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors to coordinate work and resolve issues.

  • Mentor, train, and support apprentices and lead electricians in troubleshooting and technical tasks.

  • Drive project close-out activities, including punch lists, labeling, testing, commissioning, and documentation.

  • Perform and oversee conduit installation, gear setting, panel wiring, service terminations, EV infrastructure installation, and lighting upgrades.

  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), company standards, and project-specific requirements.

  • Read, interpret, and apply information from one-line diagrams, electrical blueprints, schematics, and other technical documents.

  • Coordinate construction activities such as installation, pulling wire, terminations, and equipment layout to maintain project schedules.

  • Support solar-related work scopes, including solar mechanical, solar AC, and related electrical installations, as needed.

  • Monitor crew performance, provide feedback, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with material planning, tool and equipment coordination, and site logistics to minimize downtime.

  • Identify potential issues early and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective solutions.

Essential Skills

  • 3–5 years of electrical experience in the field.

  • 3–5 years of commercial electrical experience.

  • 3+ years of experience leading crews on construction or electrical projects.

  • Strong hands-on experience with conduit installation, wiring, pulling wire, and terminations.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, one-line diagrams, and schematics.

  • Ability to execute work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and project specifications.

  • Experience with commercial and industrial electrical installations, including gear setting, panel wiring, and service terminations.

  • Capability to oversee and perform EV infrastructure installations and lighting upgrades.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to mentor apprentices and leads.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with customers, inspectors, vendors, and subcontractors.

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities in electrical and construction environments.

  • Solid understanding of construction site safety practices and standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Journeyman electrician license preferred.

  • Indiana Electrical Master’s License preferred but not required.

  • Medium voltage experience is highly desirable.

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

  • First Aid and CPR certifications preferred.

  • MEWP, scissor lift, and cherry picker certifications preferred.

  • Familiarity with Job Tread or similar construction/project management software.

  • Experience in solar mechanical, solar AC, and solar electrical installations is a plus.

  • Ability to work on traveling projects across Indiana and nearby states.

  • Comfort working on both smaller electrical projects and larger solar projects.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in the field.

Work Environment

Work primarily takes place on commercial and industrial construction sites, including both electrical and solar project environments. The role involves field-based work on traveling projects across Indiana and nearby states, with exposure to active job sites, varying weather conditions, and typical construction-site noise and activity. You will work with electrical systems, conduit, gear, panels, EV infrastructure, lighting upgrades, and solar installations, using lifts and other construction equipment as required. The position requires adherence to all safety protocols, use of appropriate personal protective equipment, and compliance with site and company safety standards. Work hours follow typical construction schedules and may vary depending on project needs and deadlines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Indianapolis, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $87360.00/yr.

o Standard federal holidays off and paid o PTO: 1 week after 6 months, 2 weeks after 1 year (with 1 week rollover allowed) o Tuition assistance for licensing; $1/hour pay increase for each completed year of schooling o 401k o HSA
