We are looking for an Electrical Control Panel Builder to join our Indianapolis‑based panel shop. This is a hands‑on position focused on the assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical control panels, with work that is primarily custom and project‑based, with some repeat builds depending on project needs.
This position is best suited for experienced technicians who enjoy shop‑based work, value quality craftsmanship, and want long‑term stability without travel or field assignments.
Employment Type: This is a direct‑hire position. PACIV does not partner with staffing agencies and does not offer C2C or 1099 arrangements.
What You Will Do
Build, wire, and assemble industrial electrical control panels for automation and power distribution systems
Perform custom panel builds as well as some repeat builds, with most work being project‑specific and non‑repetitive
Read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams
Perform point‑to‑point wiring, terminal block installation, and component mounting
Wire PLC panels and associated I/O components
Test completed panels using digital multimeters and signal simulation (4–20 mA, 0–10 V, and discrete signals)
Troubleshoot wiring issues, component failures, and signal discrepancies prior to shipment
Partner with engineers and fabrication teams to resolve technical issues during panel build
Support shop operations including inventory coordination, material requests, and tool maintenance
Technical Skills & Experience
High School Diploma or GED required, Electrical Technician Certification or equivalent technical credential preferred
3+ years of hands‑on electrical control panel assembly and wiring experience
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics for 24 VDC, 120 VAC, and 480 VAC systems
Experience wiring PLC panels; Allen‑Bradley, Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider preferred
Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems
Proficiency using digital meters and testing tools (Fluke or equivalent)
Ability to produce clean, well‑labeled, build‑to‑print control panels
UL508A experience is not required but highly preferred
Work Environment
This position is ideal for technicians who prefer hands‑on, shop‑based work with consistency and variety.
