Job Title: Dryer Operator
Job Description
Join our team as a Dryer Operator in the Food Drying Department. In this role, you will be responsible for drying and packaging bulk Food Grade Ferrous Sulfate in accordance with Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will play a crucial role in meeting daily production needs, ensuring safety requirements are followed, and maintaining cleanliness in production areas.
Responsibilities
Dry and package bulk Food Grade Ferrous Sulfate as per instructions and SOPs.
Meet daily production levels as determined by management.
Ensure compliance with safety requirements and maintain proper housekeeping in production areas.
Maintain proper stock rotation of FG approved Moist Ferrous Sulfate.
Move material using a skid steer.
Complete Work Orders and Production Records.
Sample products for Quality Control testing.
Complete shift change cleaning requirements.
Operate the forklift to move damp materials.
Mix damp materials and run them through a dryer machine.
Move dry materials to storage bins.
Essential Skills
Experience with sit-down forklifts.
Previous machinery operation experience, including making adjustments.
Ability to consistently lift 55 pounds.
Experience in food production and manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of dryer operation.
Understanding of GMP and cGMP standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in the Food and Beverage industry.
Machine troubleshooting experience.

Work Environment
The work environment is dusty, with iron salt particles present on the floor, creating a faint penny-like smell. Employees are encouraged to wear an N95 mask or scarf for comfort, though the material is not hazardous. The role requires working in a dirty environment with potential exposure to dust.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
