Description

We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee and manage the accounting operations of our construction client in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is pivotal in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all accounting functions. The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative and detail-oriented approach to support strategic financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of transactions.

• Develop and maintain internal controls for budgeting, billing, collections, and other financial processes.

• Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to maintain financial accuracy.

• Review contracts to ensure proper billing, cash flow management, and reserve levels.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, projections, and ad hoc reports for senior management and regulatory compliance.

• Coordinate and conduct audits, ensuring adherence to established internal controls and accounting standards.

• Make journal entries and reclassifications on a monthly or quarterly basis to align financial records.

• Analyze financial data to identify areas for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.

• Stay updated on organizational policies, accounting standards, and relevant state regulations.

Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant accounting experience; a combination of education and experience will be considered.

• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and various accounting software.

• Demonstrated expertise in month-end close processes, budget management, and financial forecasting.

• Strong skills in bank reconciliations, account reconciliations, and journal entries.

• Exceptional attention to detail with an organized and systematic approach to tasks.

• Proven ability to collaborate with leadership and communicate effectively across all levels.

• High level of integrity and commitment to excellence.
