Job Description
We are seeking dedicated Construction Materials Technicians for the Ohio River Bridge Project in Evansville, IN. This significant infrastructure initiative aims to improve safety, reduce congestion, and enhance economic growth by providing a modern, high-capacity connection between Indiana and Kentucky. The project involves roadway reconstruction, interchanges, and approach structures on the Indiana side. This position offers a minimum of 9 months of work starting in April.
Responsibilities
Perform Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) testing to evaluate soil strength and compaction.
Conduct 1‑Point Proctor tests to determine maximum dry density and optimum moisture content.
Carry out moisture content testing to ensure soils meet INDOT compaction and stability requirements.
Verify quality of embankments, subgrades, backfill materials, and soil conditions during construction.
Work outdoors in all weather conditions, supporting long‑hours construction schedules (10–12 hrs/day).
Communicate field findings clearly and accurately to project leaders, contractors, and inspectors.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of experience in construction materials testing, specifically for INDOT projects.
Proven experience in DCP Testing, 1-Point Proctor Testing, and Moisture Testing for soil testing.
Active INDOT Construction Earthwork certification.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Additional INDOT Certifications are advantageous.
Willingness to submit to a drug and background screening.
Experience with construction inspection and construction materials testing.

Work Environment
This position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions, typically for 10-12 hours a day, 6-7 days a week, starting at 7:00am CST. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
