Job Title: INDOT/DPW Construction Inspector
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Construction Inspector for a 2.5‑month contract assignment supporting a road reconstruction and underground utility project in the Fountain Square area. This project is entering a heavy construction phase with significant concrete and asphalt paving, along with water, sewer, and storm pipe installation.
The assignment is expected to begin mid‑March and run through the end of May.
This role is a strong fit for inspectors who are in between projects or waiting for their next assignment to start and want to stay active, earn income, and see a project through

Responsibilities
Perform daily construction inspections for roadway and underground utility reconstruction
Oversee paving crews and pipe crews to ensure compliance with plans and specifications
Monitor concrete and asphalt paving operations
Inspect water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer installation
Ensure all work meets INDOT standards and requirements
Required Qualifications
INDOT Certified Technician (All six certifications are preferred, with concrete and asphalt certifications being essential)
Minimum 2 years of construction inspection experience
Experience overseeing paving and underground utility work
Preferred Experience
INDOT project experience
Experience working with the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) road and utility reconstruction projects
Work Environment
Field‑based role
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions

This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00/hr.
