Duties
- Examine and process complex travel claims for military and/or civilian employees.
- Support the Customer Care Center by addressing incoming calls, faxes, and electronic inquiries.
- Research accounting data and perform balancing and reconciliation of accounts.
- Process various types of accounting transactions and verify their accuracy, completeness, and validity.
- Research current accounts, historical data, and source documents to develop and explain detailed information.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining the Internal Control Program to protect against waste, fraud, and abuse.
- Duties will be developmental in nature when the position is filled below the full performance level.
Requirements
Conditions of Employment
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Must be suitable for Federal Employment and registered for Selective Service (if applicable).
- Must undergo a background investigation and obtain/maintain a favorable security clearance.
- Must obtain and maintain a Level 1 DoD Financial Management (FM) Certification within two years of employment.
- Must pass an E-Verify employment verification check.
Qualifications
One year of experience equivalent to the next lower grade level is required.
- GS-04 Specialized Experience: One year of general experience, defined as progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates the ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed for the position.
- GS-05 Specialized Experience: One year of experience performing duties that support the processing of financial/accounting transactions using standardized procedures. This may include reviewing documents for accuracy, inputting information into automated systems, or correcting invalid transactions.
Volunteer experience that builds critical competencies is qualifying and will be credited.
Education

GS-04 Substitution:
Two years of successfully completed education above the high school level.
