Description
We are looking for a dedicated Accounting Manager/Supervisor to oversee and optimize our client's financial operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role combines technical accounting expertise with strategic leadership to ensure compliance with regulations, enhance financial performance, and support the company’s growth objectives. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical mindset, proficiency in financial systems, and a collaborative approach to managing accounting functions and driving process improvements.
Responsibilities:
• Manage core accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and credit management.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by staying updated on legislation and preparing necessary filings.
• Build strong partnerships with operations and sales teams to support informed business decisions.
• Lead the preparation and analysis of budgets, financial forecasts, and variance reports to monitor organizational profitability.
• Oversee monthly and fiscal year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in reporting.
• Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and insights to auditors.
• Prepare and review financial statements by division and entity, ensuring adherence to company policies.
• Implement cost-saving strategies and innovative solutions to streamline accounting procedures and improve operational efficiency.
• Facilitate daily and annual inventory cycle counts, ensuring accuracy in reporting and collaboration with operations teams.
• Drive improvements in financial reporting processes to enhance service, revenue, and overall profitability.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.
• Expertise in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and inventory cost accounting.
• Proficiency in financial systems such as Epicor, Microsoft Excel, and Power BI.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in mentoring and coaching teams.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities to navigate complex financial challenges.
• Demonstrated skill in month-end close processes, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Familiarity with financial statement audits and tax compliance.
