Naval Sea Systems Command IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) in Indian Head, Maryland

Responsibilities You will serve as the Command's Cloud Developer, Architect, and primary subject matter expert for all cloud initiatives within the Enterprise Services Branch. You will be responsible for the technical development, configuration, and management of solutions within the Command's Microsoft Azure environment. You will maintain virtual machines, servers, and various services to ensure the infrastructure's security, stability, and scalability in accordance with all Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Navy (DON) policies. You will serve as key liaison between the Command, its internal customers, and external partners. You will collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, define project scopes, and translate operational needs into technical cloud solutions. You will develop and deploy custom web-based applications and the creation of solutions using SharePoint, Power Apps, and Power BI to support data visualization and business process automation. You will develop standard operating procedures, provide expert guidance to leadership on the secure adoption of cloud technologies, and determine the strategic path for joint cloud initiatives. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 (GS-11/12 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating discrepancies with application software for resolution and deployment of web-based applications to maintain Information Technology (IT) system compliance and functionality. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled. You will serve as an IT SPECIALIST (APPSW) in the ACIO/Information Technology (IT) Division (104) of Naval Surface Warfare Center Indian Head Division. This announcement uses the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Science and Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Direct Hire Authority for STRL Mission Support to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. The salary range shown above represents all of the positions within the band, including high grade positions. This is not a high grade position; therefore, the salary may be limited to a GS-13 Step 10 (currently $158,322). Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-05 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to the GS-13 and GS-14. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
