Actalent Material Planner in Independence, Missouri
Job Title: Material PlannerJob Description
The Material Planner will manage the sourcing of raw and packaging materials to support the growth agenda of the business. This role involves reviewing material availability for the production of finished goods, as well as owning the expediting and de-expediting of materials to support the plant production schedule while optimizing inventory levels.
Responsibilities
Manage the Material Requirement Planning process, a key step within the end-to-end supply chain planning pillar.
Evaluate material requirements based on system-generated Material Requirement Planning and requisition materials.
Implement inventory strategy and monitor raw and package inventory to achieve continuous improvement in inventory optimization.
Minimize waste for obsolescence and runouts.
Own, monitor, and update master data to allow systems to optimize plans.
Support innovation launches and material setups to deliver flawless launches.
Interface with cross-functional teams to improve processes and outcomes.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in supply chain and materials planning.
Experience in food manufacturing.
Ability to conduct root cause analysis and develop inventory strategies.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in Material Requirements Planning - Supply Chain.
Understanding of data-mining techniques, root case analysis, and statistical methods.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with a focus in an analytical discipline preferred such as Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or Economics.
Proficiency in PC-based software tools, specifically MS Excel.
Knowledge of SAP ECC is a plus.
Work Environment
This is a 6-month contract position located in a manufacturing mix room, working with raw and packaging materials. The work involves managing and optimizing the use of these materials within the manufacturing environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Independence, MO.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
