Temporary Fulltime position from 2-15-2026 to 12-1-2026 50 Hours/week 18.48/ hour US worker 3 Months work experience H-2A Adverse Housing Compensation Adjustment -$1.80 -- Wage for H-2A workers provided housing is $16.68 The General Ranch Hand will primarily be required to operate equipment for planting/seeding, fertilizing and harvesting of small grains. Worker will be required to operate farm equipment such as a tractors, combines, swather, rollers, fertilizer spreader, sprayers, grain trucks, augers and semi-trucks (onsite only). Worker will be required to load and unload grain trucks/carts, operate grain storage bags with machine, must be mechanically inclined in order to perform light maintenance and repairs on equipment, tractors and trucks; pay close attention to the details and keep accurate records. Must also be willing to assist in other areas of the farm as needed; such as picking rocks, running parts, tearing down and/or maintaining fencing; grounds maintenance and facility cleaning and maintenance. Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs, and must be willing to work 12+ hour days during harvest. The job entails working with farm machinery, outdoors in all types of weather (extreme heat, wind, dust, rain) and occasional exposure to poisonous snakes and predators. Extensive walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting and long hours sitting and operating farm equipment is required. A minimum of 3 months of experience with the harvesting of crops, equipment maintenance, and all other tasks shown above is required for this position. Driving is a requirement with willingness to obtain a drivers license. The position will be required to perform a variety of duties related to the production of commercial cow calf operation. Duties related to the production of livestock will include the following: check physical characteristics, observe general condition of livestock and apply the appropriate care; examine animals to detect illness/injury/disease, rate of weight gain to determine delivery time, night calving and assisting in delivery of calves;, apply or administer medications/vaccines, mix feed/additives and feed/water livestock when the cattle are not out to pasture; place mineral blocks; drive equipment to haul/distribute feed/water; load/unload trucks and semi-trucks; herd livestock; confine livestock in stalls; clean/disinfect livestock corrals/stalls/sheds; dock, castrate, brand, clip/tag and clamp livestock; occasionally ride and perform duties on horseback. Work week is 50 hours/week average with an increase during calving & haying. There will be night time calving for roughly a month & some early morning/late night baling. Employer provided items (at no cost to the worker): All tools and equipment necessary to perform the duties assigned as well as transportation between worker(s) on-site housing and the work site. A cell phone or two-way radio will be provided for emergency and ranch communications at no cost to the worker (excluding long distance charges). Housing and Workers Compensation insurance will be provided at no charge to the workers. Social security / Medicaid Taxes and Federal / State taxes will be withheld from U.S. Worker's paychecks. Voluntary withholdings will be deducted from foreign workers' paychecks at their request. Employer will make the following deductions when applicable: FICA, loans and advances, long-distance telephone charges the reasonable repair or replacement cost of willful or negligent damage to housing, tools and equipment caused by the worker (other than normal wear and tear).
