Security tools developer A day in Life
As a Security tools developer at Thermo Fisher, you will mainly develop security tools for hardening, configuring and patching of our diagnostic products. You could, for example:
Design, develop, and maintain security tools for hardening, configuring and patching critical platforms.
Programming, mainly in C# .NET and PowerShell scripts
Hardware firewall configuration and deployment
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address system and network security requirements, implementing effective controls to safeguard data and systems.
Assist with the preparation of training materials and user instructions for personnel involved with the security and deployment of our laboratory products and systems.

Education
- Preferred education level: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related fields.
Experience
Solid experience in application security for Windows platforms
Solid experience in Windows application development using C#, .NET and WPF
Experience with hardware firewall configuration, preferably Juniper and Fortinet
Experience in PowerShell and scripting languages, e.g. Python, Ruby, or Perl
Familiarity with system and network security tools and vulnerability scanners
Experience in VB.NET WinForms is desirable, but not required
Some experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines
