Wells Fargo Senior Software Engineer in Hyderabad, India
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot
Own end to end delivery of features across design, development, deployment, and production support
Build RESTful APIs and integrate with internal and external services
Apply clean code, SOLID principles, and design patterns to ensure maintainable solutions
Participate in architecture and design reviews, influencing technical direction
Ensure high standards of performance, scalability, security, and reliability
Write comprehensive unit, integration, and automated tests
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, performing root cause analysis
Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and other engineers
Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices
Actively participate in code reviews and continuous improvement initiatives
Should be able to understand project documents, customer demands, and product objectives to help the businesses or partner systems to adopt our product.
Must be able to read and understand complex documentation in order to learn and apply best practices and methodologies for our clients
Should be able to perform a Gap analysis on Requirements, Functional Specs, and review with project management team.
Must have strong analytical skills and be able to successfully multitask in a result driven environment.
Should have strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with different stakeholders and ensure high quality results.
Work with US and India teams closely on the business requirement / initiative.
Analyze business needs as they relate to client business objectives and creation of lean processes; contribute towards development efforts on need basis
Contribute to the design discussions
Provide technical expertise to support team during incident/problem resolution.
Monitor Production Applications Logs using Splunk and AppDynamics
Should have strong understanding of Agile methodologies. Experience in working with Scrum teams is an added advantage.
Should be able to contribute actively to In-sprint automation.
Excellent understanding of JIRA life cycle, hands on experience in JIRA is required to perform requirement gathering, tracking progress, test case design, execution, defect management and analyzing results.
Act as a technical advisor for cross-functional teams, ensuring that architectural and security standards are maintained.
Work with business teams, product owners, and partner systems to define scope, dependencies, and adoption strategies for new initiatives.
Engage in Scrum of Scrums to track dependencies, remove blockers, and align technical teams towards shared goals.
Participate in scope reevaluation discussions to ensure commitments and prioritization align with product roadmaps.
Collaborate with security and governance teams to classify documents, define trust levels, and ensure compliance with data retention policies.
Document and communicate exceptions, corrective actions, and approvals
Willingness to improve or add to existing documentation
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Strong proficiency in Java (v 8+)
Extensive experience with Spring Boot, including Spring MVC | Spring Data JPA / JDBC | Spring Security
Hands on experience designing and building Microservices architectures
Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and API versioning
Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts: Service discovery | Load balancing | Circuit breakers | Fault tolerance
Job Expectations:
Experience with databases: Relational (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle) | NoSQL (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) – preferred
Familiarity with messaging/streaming systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and build tools (Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
Strong debugging and performance tuning skills
Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or equivalent or relevant experience in the job market
Experience in software engineering, product enablement, governance, or technical consulting.
Ability to analyzes scope, dependencies, and technical challenges to drive alignment and decision-making.
Hands-on experience on Distributed Systems web development across Java/JEE, Webservices (SOAP / REST)
Experienced with understanding both functional and non-functional requirements.
Proven ability to effectively deliver results as required.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to collaborate across teams.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
Ability to operate independently under strict timelines.
High level of cultural awareness.
Ability to train system users.
Should be an AI/ML literate
Strong problem-solving skills, debugging, and optimization expertise.
Preferred Skills:
Having ECM domain knowledge
Experience of working across one or more geographic territories or regions
Full stack development
Enterprise client service or related business experience
