Lead SME – GenAI DevOps

ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Lead SME – GenAI DevOps will serve as the primary technical leader responsible for platform architecture, performance, and reliability. The role includes strategic planning, leading migrations and transitions, implementing DevOps best practices, and ensuring high availability (target 99.9% uptime). This position requires balancing hands-on technical execution with stakeholder communication and operational oversight.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide leadership and technical ownership of the GenAI Platform.

• Present platform health metrics, KPIs, and technical updates to stakeholders.

• Lead platform enhancements and strategic technology roadmap initiatives.

• Drive migrations and transitions across GenAI environments.

• Ensure platform stability, reliability, and performance optimization.

• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines for AI and cloud-native applications.

• Architect and optimize Hybrid Search solutions (BM25 + Vector + Metadata filtering).

• Implement secure authentication and authorization using Azure Identity and OAuth/JWT.

• Oversee backend services using Python (FastAPI) and frontend integration with React/Node.js.

• Manage vector databases, embeddings, and semantic retrieval systems.

• Implement monitoring, logging, and AIOps practices for AI workloads.

• Ensure data privacy through encryption/decryption mechanisms.

• Support document lifecycle management and AI conversation orchestration.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 8–12+ years of experience (Lead / Principal Level)

• Strong background in AI/LLM platforms and DevOps

• Experience with Azure cloud ecosystem

• Proven leadership in platform ownership and migrations

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Deep understanding of LLMs, Prompt Engineering, and RAG architectures

• Expertise in Python (FastAPI), React, Node.js

• Strong knowledge of Hybrid Search and Information Retrieval

• Experience with Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search

• Proficiency with Azure Functions and serverless design

• Knowledge of Azure SQL / PostgreSQL / Cosmos DB

• Hands-on DevOps experience (Docker, Azure DevOps, CI/CD)

• Strong experience in logging, monitoring, and performance tuning

• Expertise in Redux, Ant Design (antd), Tailwind/CSS

• Experience with vector databases and embeddings

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
