About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Operational Risk Officer
In this role, you will:
Provide companywide oversight and governance of an integrated operational risk program or initiative
Develop and drive innovative operational risk approaches and solutions companywide through an influence model
Identify potential business operational risks
Develop and drive innovative operational risk approaches and solutions companywide through an influence model
Constructively and independently challenge existing risk management fundamentals or assumptions and develop alternative approaches and solutions
Evaluate long term implications and consequences of strategic business decisions and recommend appropriate alternatives for risk management
Lead implementation of complex initiatives with high risk, generally spanning multiple business lines
Consult to the business on corrective action plans and effectively managing change
Influence and negotiate with executive management and business heads as high-level stakeholders both within and outside Wells Fargo
Lead initiatives and virtual teams across the organization to deliver companywide business risk management transformations
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and managers to resolve issues and achieve goals
Lead project or virtual teams and mentor less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
- 7+ years of Operational Risk experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
7+ years of Experience establishing large scale technology platforms
3-5 years’ experience in orchestration engines and BPM or Robotic based automation
2-4 years’ experience with data warehousing and large-scale databases or similar technologies
Highly proficient in Python modules, coding best practices, and CI/CD processes
Strong Database SQL experience and knowledge of ETL processes
Hands on experience in building integrations via Web Services (REST, SOAP, etc)
Job Expectations:
Drive the vision and execution of AI adoption across Corporate Risk, Control teams and Technology teams through the technology build out and adoption of core technologies
Focus on understanding business requirements and developing robust technical capabilities to leverage AI and Data to drive tangible insights that drive actions and business outcomes
Expertise in multiple programming language including (Python, SQL)
Experience with Generative AI, RAG pipelines, and agentic AI systems
Practical experience in using LLMs, prompt engineering, vector databases, and orchestration
Full stack developer with the ability to establish agentic ai workloads using frameworks such as LangGraph, Crew AI, Microsoft AutoGen, LangChain, Chainlit
Expertise in using AI endpoints to run agentic workflows with tools such as Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT
Knowledge of Cyber Security, Application Development, Infrastructure is also preferred
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to present data insights in a clear, concise, and compelling manner to various stakeholders
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
Ability to present complex material in a digestible, consumable manner to all levels of management.
Broad knowledge of technology risks and the issues faced by financial institutions today.
Proven experience with managing technology risk issues.
Experience developing risk metrics and trending reports.
Ability to synthesize data from a variety of sources and deliver results quickly.
Leadership experience in driving agile teams, establishing coding-based practices and building solutions in line with business expectations
Strong ability to lead through influence peers and key stakeholders when driving architectural decisions, solution design, data acquisition strategies, and process re-engineering
Highly proactive, able to work both independently and within a collaborative team-oriented environment using sound judgment in decision-making.
Strong organization and detail-oriented skills, with proven ability to manage and prioritize work to meet deadlines despite frequent interruptions.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with virtual and/or geographically dispersed teams.
