Job Description: Security Specialist
Overview
Enterprise Database Management is seeking a motivated Junior Data Security Specialist to support daytoday operations of database security and monitoring tools. This role is ideal for an earlycareer professional looking to grow expertise in data security, automation, and risk management within a collaborative, Agile environment. The position focuses on execution, analysis, and operational support under the guidance of senior team members.
Key Responsibilities
Support daily operational activities for database security and monitoring tools.
Assistwith investigation of database activity toidentifypotential outlier or anomalous behavior.
Review database vulnerability scan results and helpidentifytrends and remediation opportunities.
Helpmaintainsystem documentation, standard operating procedures, and security practices aligned with industry benchmarks and internal controls.
Participate in SOC1, SOC2, and internal audit activities by gathering evidence and supporting documentation.
Assistwith creation of reports related to database activity incidents and compliance status.
Support implementation and maintenance of security products for vulnerability scanning, access monitoring, and PII identification.
Work within Agilemethodologyusing Rally to manage assigned tasks and priorities.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years Computer science diploma
2–4 years of experience in databasetechnologies, data, or information security–related roles.
Foundational knowledge of database security concepts and vulnerability management.
Exposure tosecurity tools such as Imperva,jSonar,PKware, or similar technologies.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic reporting tools.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and learnnew technologiesquickly.
AWSand GCPexposure preferred.
Demonstrated ability to partner with and supportcrossteaminitiatives
