Role & Responsibilities
Lead and manage the R&D cost optimization (VAVE) team, providing strategic direction and execution oversight
Deliver $4M annual cost savings and build a robust pipeline of $8M+ for future initiatives
Drive execution excellence by orchestrating cross-functional project teams to deliver projects on time with improved quality and efficiency
Apply structured cost optimization methodologies, including product cost analysis, should-costing, costed BOM analysis, material spend analysis, teardown, competitive benchmarking, and VAVE to identify opportunities and build a strong pipeline
Collaborate with global stakeholders, provide regular progress updates, and proactively escalate risks or support requirements
Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight for project management and design activities across MCP projects
Partner with project leaders to identify risks early and develop effective mitigation plans
Work closely with design leadership to develop and execute Design Verification Plans (DVP)
Identify process gaps and establish standardized workflows and PPI-based systems to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence
Champion Practical Process Improvement (PPI), Lean initiatives, and key business improvement programs
Manage and adhere to the annual operating plan, including resource allocation and project budgets
Develop and maintain team capability frameworks, including proficiency matrices and resource planning
Mentor and support team members to foster continuous learning and professional development

Skills & Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
12 + years of proven track record with Project Management (Minimum 8 years of relevant experience), with strong exposure to product sustenance and cost optimization/VAVE project execution
Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, preferably handling a cluster of 25+ projects
Experience in developing strategic road maps and detailed execution plans to meet and exceed business objectives
Strong track record of driving strategic initiatives and delivering measurable outcomes, particularly in VAVE programs
Proficiency in stage-gate or technical review processes
Good understanding of regulatory requirements, certifications, and engineering standards
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
Strong people leadership and team management capabilities
Demonstrated track record of delivering impactful cost savings across the career
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with PLM systems (e.g., Teamcenter) and CAD tools such as UG/NX, along with working knowledge of simulation tools like Ansys
Experience managing large-scale cost optimization programs with high impact
