The Team:
As a member of the S&P Global Market Intelligence Technology team, you will work with a group of intelligent and ambitious engineers. Our software engineers are involved in the full product life cycle, from design through release. You will participate in design reviews, write high‑quality code, and collaborate closely with QA Analysts, Business Analysts, and Infrastructure Teams.
Responsibilities and Impact:
This role is responsible for creating technical designs, developing high‑performing web application software delivery automation, and ensuring quality through a robust testing and governance process. You will be part of the team supporting the enterprise search capability for a company‑wide product platform that provides essential information to the global finance industry and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve in a highly hands‑on DevOps/Cloud Engineering role using commercial and cloud‑native services across AWS and Microsoft Azure, including AWS Lambda, AWS CloudWatch, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, and commercial infrastructure‑as‑code and configuration management solutions.
Design, build, and manage enterprise CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, and commercial CI/CD orchestration platforms (such as CloudBees CI for Jenkins‑style pipelines).
Build automated delivery pipelines for .NET, Java, and Python applications, including automated quality gates and release approvals.
Implement AI‑driven monitoring and anomaly detection frameworks using cloud‑native AIOps capabilities and managed observability services (for example, AWS CloudWatch Application Signals, Azure Monitor, and commercial AIOps platforms such as Dynatrace or New Relic).
Integrate cloud‑native observability using Amazon CloudWatch (metrics/logs/traces) and AWS X‑Ray or equivalent managed distributed tracing solutions, including standardized telemetry, alerting, and SLO reporting.
Implement AI‑based root cause analysis workflows and incident automation to reduce Mean Time to Recovery (MTTR), leveraging commercial incident management and AIOps platforms.
Design and implement technical solutions for managed container platforms using AWS managed container services (e.g., Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) and AWS Fargate) and/or other cloud‑managed container orchestration offerings, including workload sizing and scaling strategies.
Implement security and vulnerability scanning for pipelines (SAST/DAST/SCA), enforce policy‑as‑code using commercial security platforms, and automate notification/triage workflows to drive remediation.
Manage source control, branching, and versioning in GitHub and Azure DevOps Repos to ensure effective collaboration, governance, and traceability.
What We’re Looking For:
Basic Qualifications:
9–12 years of extensive experience in DevOps / Cloud Engineering.
Strong experience building solutions on AWS (and/or Azure), including managed container services and cloud networking/IAM fundamentals.
Strong experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions; experience with commercial, enterprise‑grade CI/CD platforms compatible with Jenkins‑style pipelines.
Experience implementing AI‑powered observability/AIOps, including anomaly detection, event correlation, and automated incident response, leveraging commercial AIOps and observability products.
Experience integrating commercial software composition analysis and static application security testing tools (such as Mend/WhiteSource and Fortify) into CI/CD with actionable reporting and governance.
Proven experience optimizing infrastructure for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability, including measurable cost‑saving initiatives.
Strong troubleshooting skills across cloud services, CI/CD platforms, runtime platforms, and infrastructure components.
Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and delivery practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in supporting and deploying enterprise search applications using commercial search platforms (for example, AWS OpenSearch Service in a fully managed, enterprise configuration or equivalent proprietary search solutions).
Good understanding of HDFS, ZooKeeper and Message queues.
Proficiency in monitoring and alerting using commercial observability platforms and dashboards such as Datadog, Splunk Observability, and other proprietary monitoring suites, including log analytics and APM capabilities.
Experience with large data transfer applications or middleware and comfort working with large data volumes in enterprise environments.
