Job Description
Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Test Engineer to join our Infrastructure Solutions Architecture Assurance team. This role supports our strategically architected labs, which drive enterprise infrastructure initiatives through validation, optimization, and innovation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, configuring, testing, and validating complex network environments that will be used to support end‑to‑end production deployments.
Responsibilities
Build and maintain multi‑vendor network environments including Juniper, Arista, and other enterprise networking platforms.
Configure, test, and validate Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols including Multicast, BGP, OSPF/IS‑IS, MPLS, EVPN/VXLAN, and related technologies.
Create detailed network test plans, document test results, methodologies, and test cases.
Execute functional, performance, scale, interoperability testing of network features and solutions.
Use industry‑standard traffic‑generation and validation tools such as Ixia/Keysight for load, latency testing and benchmarking.
Automate network configuration and test workflows using Python and/or Ansible.
Troubleshoot complex network issues using packet captures, logs, and protocol analysis tools.
Participate in lab equipment maintenance including OS upgrades, firmware updates, and hardware lifecycle activities.
Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to support development cycles, proof‑of‑concept testing, and architectural evaluations.
Stay up‑to‑date with emerging networking standards, vendor roadmaps, and automation workflows relevant to R&D testing environments.
Knowledge and Experience
5+ years of hands‑on experience supporting, configuring, and troubleshooting enterprise or service provider networks.
Strong knowledge and practical experience with:
Multicast(PIM, MSDP, IGMP, OISM), BGP, MP-BGP, ECMP, PBR, OSPF/IS‑IS, MPLS, RSVP-TE, NGMVPN, LDP, EVPN/VXLAN, SDWAN
Data center leaf‑spine architectures
Routing policy, traffic engineering, and L2/L3 feature validation
Experience with Juniper (JUNOS), Arista (EOS), and at least one additional major network vendor (Cisco, Nokia, etc.).
Hands‑on experience using Ixia/Keysight, Spirent, or similar traffic‑generation tools.
Practical Python and/or Ansible experience for automation, validation, or tooling.
Ability to execute and develop automated or semi‑automated network test workflows.
Strong analytical and debugging skills using CLI, packet captures, and telemetry.
Ability to manage multiple lab projects, configurations, and test cycles simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, or equivalent technical field preferred.
Relevant industry certifications such as JNCIP/JNCIE, CCNP/CCIE, Arista ACE are advantageous.
Preferred Knowledge and Experience
Experience building CI/CD‑like workflows for network testing or automation.
Familiarity with network virtualization, containers, or cloud networking models.
Understanding of zero‑trust architecture principles and network security frameworks.
Exposure to AI/ML infrastructure requirements and GPU‑optimized networking.
Experience with edge computing deployments and distributed infrastructure.
Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and shifting project requirements.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage lab resources effectively.
Team‑oriented mindset with a willingness to collaborate across engineering groups.
Demonstrated ability to improve operational processes and automation efficiency.
