Role & Responsibilities
As a member of the cost optimization (VAVE) team, you will support the identification and execution of cost reduction opportunities, contribute to design concept development, and assist in building standardized engineering practices.
Review and interpret technical specifications and requirements; seek clarification when needed
Identify potential cost reduction opportunities in assigned products with guidance from senior team members
Develop an understanding of component functionality through self-learning and hands-on exposure
Support the development of design concepts and perform basic engineering calculations and trade-off analyses under guidance
Assist in component selection to meet technical and performance requirements
Prepare design documentation based on reviews, inputs, and established engineering processes
Develop a working understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and tolerances
Conduct alternative component searches and perform basic design evaluations independently
Gain exposure to design and simulation tools and progressively build hands-on proficiency
Support preparation of design artifacts and documentation in line with defined processes
Demonstrate a proactive learning mindset and willingness to take on new challenges
Skills & Proficiencies
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0–2 years of experience
Strong understanding of core mechanical engineering fundamentals (e.g., strength of materials, theory of machines, heat transfer)
Basic knowledge of design principles, engineering drawings, and tolerancing
Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
Attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks
Strong learning agility, curiosity, and willingness to develop new skills
Effective communication and collaboration abilities
