Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Edifecs Developer to design, develop, and support healthcare EDI solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Edifecs tools and a solid understanding of healthcare EDI transactions and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain EDI mappings using Edifecs SpecBuilder and MapBuilder
Work on healthcare EDI transactions such as 837 (P/I/D), 835, 270/271, 276/277, 277CA, 834, 820, PACDR
Develop and manage Guidelines, Profiles, and Protocols
Configure and support Edifecs EAM / XEngine for batch and real-time processing
Perform EDI validation, error handling, and troubleshooting
Work closely with business analysts and healthcare SMEs to understand requirements
Support production issues, root cause analysis, and defect fixes
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, X12 5010, and other regulatory standards
Participate in testing, deployment, and post-production support activities
Document technical designs and operational procedures
Required Skills & Qualifications
7+ years of hands-on experience with Edifecs tools
Strong knowledge of healthcare EDI standards ( X12, HIPAA )
Experience with SpecBuilder, MapBuilder, XEngine
Hands-on experience in EDI validations, acknowledgments ( 999, 277CA )
Experience with batch processing and real-time EDI flows
Good understanding of healthcare domain concepts (claims, eligibility, payments)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good communication and stakeholder interaction skills
Good to Have
Experience with Edifecs EAM, Encounter Management
Exposure to cloud deployments (AWS/Azure)
Knowledge of SQL and database tracking
Experience with production support and on-call rotations
Understanding of payer/provider workflows
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
