Saw Operator / Laborer | Logan,UT

 Nexeo is hiring a Saw Operator / Laborer to support manufacturing operations in a precision fabrication environment. This position is responsible for loading materials,measuring and cutting parts to specification,staging finished work for the next process,and maintaining organization and cleanliness in the work area. The role requires accuracy when reading a tape measure,attention to safety and documentation,and willingness to assist in other departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload material and parts from the saw
• Operate and tend the saw to cut stock and adjust machine speed and tension
• Measure cuts to prints to ensure accuracy and maintain low scrap rates
• Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance cutting and report to management
• Position and clamp stock on tables,conveyors,or rollers
• Stage parts for the next production area with appropriate paperwork
• Visually inspect parts and cuts for defects
• Check and replenish lubrication system fluids
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Safely move and handle heavy metal sheet,plate,and parts using proper equipment
• Use calipers,squares,rulers,and other measuring devices to maintain specifications
• Ensure production rates are met or exceeded
• Assist with cleaning or maintenance tasks in other departments when needed

• Basic mechanical skills,including reading a tape measure
• Basic blueprint reading
• Ability to work to time and production schedules
• Ability to stand and lift as required
• Must accurately read a tape measure to 1/16 inch (tape measure test required)
• Prior experience operating a saw and grinder is beneficial
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Must be comfortable standing throughout the workday
• Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds
• Must pass a UA (drug screening)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain in a stationary position approximately 50% of the time
• Ability to move about work areas,use hands/fingers,and operate industrial machinery
• Occasional climbing or balancing
• Frequent stooping,kneeling,crouching,or crawling
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
• Ability to observe details at close range
• Frequently move and transport materials up to 100 pounds
• Constant exposure to outdoor weather conditions

Pay Rate  $16.00 $18.00 per hour

Schedule  Full Time | Monday Friday | 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
